Distinctively political normativity in political theory

Abstract Recent years' literature on distinctively political normativity raises methodological and meta‐theoretical concerns of importance for theory. The aim this article is to identify critically examine the main positions in debate as well analyze problems promising ways forward. In brief, we argue that predominant “non‐moral view” (i.e., view independent moral normativity), problematic all its three versions. Further, suggest a reasonable approach should adopt “moral not normativity) investigate two such approaches: so‐called “filter approach” “role approach.” Although still much need further development theory, both them bear promise accounts which preserve distinctness domain while acknowledging status kind.
